How do I add a SARS Registered Representative?

This guide walks you through the documents you need, how to submit your request, and what to expect from SARS once your application is in.

Required Documents

Before starting your submission, gather the following six items:

  1. draw

    Appointment letter signed by all directors (a template is available on request from DidiServ support)

  2. badge
    2.

    A clear copy of the registered representative's South African ID document

  3. photo_camera
    3.

    A photo of the representative holding their ID alongside a handwritten note stating "update my details"

  4. home
    4.

    Proof of residential address — a recent municipal account or rental agreement

  5. business
    5.

    A copy of your company registration certificate (COR 14.3)

  6. numbers

    The representative's personal SARS income tax number (obtainable via the SARS eFiling portal if not already known)

Submission Process

The submission follows three stages:

Access the SARS form

Log in to the SARS eFiling portal and navigate to the representative registration form.

Upload your documents

Use the documents upload button to attach all six items listed above.

Submit and save your reference

Submit the request. You will immediately receive a confirmation email containing a case reference number — keep this safe.

Up to 21 working days

SARS will notify you via email once your request has been accepted. Upon submission you will receive a confirmation email with a case reference number — use this in all follow-up correspondence.
