How to Accept a SARS eFiling Tax Type Transfer Request

When your Didiserv accountant requests access to manage your tax types on SARS eFiling, you will need to authorise the transfer. This guide walks you through the full 10-step process.

Step-by-Step Process

01

Open the SARS eFiling activation link

Navigate to the SARS eFiling tax type activation link that your accountant (via Didiserv) has sent to you.

02

Confirm your citizenship status

Indicate whether you are a South African citizen or a non-resident when prompted. Non-South African residents must select the appropriate option.

03

Enter your identification number

Provide your South African ID number as requested on the page.

04

Enter your company income tax reference number

Input your company's income tax reference number — not your personal income tax number. You can find your company income tax number in your Didiserv dashboard under your business profile.

05

Submit to proceed

Click submit to move to the approval page. SARS will now confirm your identity.

06

Choose your contact method

Select how you would like to receive your one-time password — either via email or phone number.

07

Enter your OTP

Enter the one-time password you received and confirm it to verify your identity.

08

Review the tax type transfer authorisation page

SARS will display the tax types that have been requested for transfer. Review these carefully to ensure they match what was discussed with your accountant.

09

Authorise each tax type

Grant permission by selecting "Authorise" for each applicable tax type listed. You must do this individually for each tax type.

10

Submit the request

Finalise the process by submitting the request. Your Didiserv accountant will be notified and will confirm once the transfer is complete on SARS eFiling.

Common Issues

Using the wrong income tax number

Make sure you enter your company income tax number and not your personal income tax number. Your company income tax number is available in your Didiserv dashboard under your business profile.

Only the registered representative can authorise

Only the person registered as the SARS representative for the company can complete this process. If another director needs to do this, they must first be designated as the registered representative with SARS.

Non-South African residents

If you are not a South African citizen, select the appropriate citizenship option when prompted on the first screen.
